RES Rears It’s Ugly Head In USA

Renewable Electricity Standard.

We’ve got one here – RET – I recently heard one AUS ABC greenie complain on air that her power bill had literally doubled! (“I know we had a cold winter, but… !)

Be nice if it had any usefull purpose at all – India – China – global cooling – the Spanish fiasco – the English fiasco – the Danish joke.

“A natural resource is a renewable resource if it is replaced by natural processes at a rate comparable or faster than its rate of consumption by humans” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renewable_resource
Just one teensie weensie little problem – the rate of consumption by humans is constant and the rate of production of wind and solar isn’t!
Renewable electricity must always have a real power station ticking over in the background to take up the slack at short notice.

Then there’s the huge amount of energy required to produce the aluminium, steel and concrete to build renwables and their infrastructure – very near to the amount they will ever generate.

Then there is the problem of scale. A single coal fired power station produces enough power for over a million people in an area not much bigger than a single farm and moves it to them down a single line of pylons.
Solar or wind power uses an area the size of dozens of farms and requires electricity pylons all over the countryside. What you gain from the greenies, you lose from the NIMBYs.

Then there’s the $8000-toilet-seat phenomena of politicians spending public money for their own self-aggrandisement.

It is just all so horribly inefficient and so gossly, horrendously, expensive that it puts the whole nation at a global disadvantage.

CHESSER: Another government mandate
First they force you to buy health insurance, then wind power, too

” …So Americans are tired of the dictating, but what do the aforementioned senators do? They dictate more, with a proposed law that will force you to procure part of your electricity from windmills, solar farms and other costly sources. It’s called a Renewable Electricity Standard (RES), brought to you by politicians who think they know what’s good for you…. “

Obama Pops Up In Rolling Stone

It’s not because he wants to appeal to the junior greenie voter, indoctrinated by their greenie teachers, it’s more likely because they just ask him short questions and let him waffle on.

“Most House Republicans envision killing Nancy Pelosi’s special global warming committee if they claw their way back into the majority this November.
But one senior GOP lawmaker has another idea in mind: sweet revenge.
Wisconsin Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner wants to keep the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming alive so it can investigate climate science and police President Barack Obama’s green policies…. “
