Repealing The Carbon Tax – Excuses Already
The unpleasant facts of the matter are that the Liberal National Party have their not-quite-so-big Carbon Let’s-not-call-it-a-Tax of their own, they fully supported the very expensive, very useless, RET (Renewable Energy Target), and they will not hold a Royal Commission into “The Science” as called for by the WA  Party Conference.

It doesn’t matter who you vote for, you always get a politician.

Labor plants poison pills in carbon tax
by: Henry Ergas
From:The Australian
September 16

” …IT was Mark Dreyfus QC, Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change, who let the cat out of the bag.

Once the carbon change legislation is in place, he said, repeal would amount to an acquisition of property by the commonwealth, as holders of emissions permits would be deprived of a valuable asset. As a result, the commonwealth would be liable, under s.51(xxxi) of the Australian Constitution, to pay compensation, potentially in the billions of dollars. A future government would therefore find repeal prohibitively costly… “

” …Nor is it the only poison pill built into the legislation. Also crucial is what happens if a new government rejects the emissions reductions recommendations made by the carbon regulator, the Climate Change Authority.

In that event, unless the government can secure a majority for an alternative target, permitted emissions are automatically cut by up to 10 per cent in a single year, crippling economic activity.

A Coalition government, or even a Labor government less wedded to the Greens, would therefore find itself trapped… “

In the words of Pauline Hansen – Mr Abbott – “please ex-plane”

How are you going to repeal the tax, exactly?

Gore climate film’s nine ‘errors’

” …Al Gore’s film was sent to schools in England, Wales and Scotland
A High Court judge who ruled on whether climate change film, An Inconvenient Truth, could be shown in schools said it contains nine scientific “errors”.
Mr Justice Burton said the government could still send the film to schools – if accompanied by guidance giving the other side of the argument.

He was ruling on an attempt by a Kent school governor to ban the film from secondary schools.

The Oscar-winning film was made by former US Vice-President Al Gore.

Mr Justice Burton said he had no complaint about Gore’s central thesis that climate change was happening and was being driven by emissions from humans. However, the judge said nine statements in the film were not supported by mainstream scientific consensus…. “

Well he’s at it again in 2011, fresh from his foul language faux pas, ( Al gore goes Nuts… ) we – get this – an experiment that was just to “simple” to be believed!

Video analysis and scene replication suggests that Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project fabricated their Climate 101 video “Simple Experiment”
Posted on September 28, 2011 by Anthony Watts

” …Analysis of this “Climate 101″ video highlighted on Mr. Gore’s website is something I’ve been working on for the past week and a half. It has been carefully reviewed (with video graphics tools) and has been inspected by a number of science, engineering, and television professionals I’ve had review the video, my video captures, annotations, and writeup to be certain I have not missed anything or come to an erroneous conclusion. It also took me awhile to locate and get the items shipped to me to do the work I needed before I wrote this article. Now that I have them, and have done some simple replications to confirm my suspicions, I can write about them while presenting corroborating photographic evidence…. “

Climate 101 – When all else fails – just fake it. Well, I mean, we’re saving the planet here!

The climate just turned cold for non-physicists

” …Anyway, I called another scientist skeptical of the climatology crowd, Don Easterbrook. Easterbrook is a professor of geology at Western Washington University who is an expert on the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, a wind-flow system over the Pacific Ocean that has a huge influence on the Earth’s climate.

It’s back to the drawing board for the climatologists, he told me. Their models need to change to incorporate the new data.

“They couldn’t even predict 10 years ahead,” said Easterbrook. “The bottom line is their modeling results have been a dismal failure.”

The reason is not far to seek, he said. When it comes to the sun, those models took into account only the amount of heat being directed toward the Earth. They didn’t take into account the effect solar activity has on cloud formation. That’s where the physics comes in…. “

This is where just some of your huge new power bill is going.

Future wind

From CSIRO Australia

“Wind power production is expected to increase greatly over the coming years and the associated electricity system will be subject to variations of several hundred megawatts – depending on wind availability.

“The ability to quantify with accuracy these long-term variations is essential to the sector from an economic point of view,” he said. (quantifying the future wind accurately – must think we’re really stupid! – well, some of us obviously are!)

The conjunction of energy and meteorology is the subject of an international conference on the Gold Coast in November – …”

Geothermal – Barking Up The Wrong Tree.
Geothermal Energy is a good idea, BUT, the key to it is in the drilling technology. These shallow “hot rock” scources are too weak , and to few, and to far away.  You’ve got to be able to get much deeper and do it anywhere. The Flame Jet Technology looks very promising  ( )

Geodynamics: Why Australia won’t make its Renewable Energy Target
By Gavin Atkins Sep 26, 2011 5:32AM UTC

” …The federal government’s pledge to meet a renewable energy target of 20 percent by 2020 is hinging on the success of geothermal energy.

Wind and hydro power was not enough to meet the 20 percent target, Federal Resources Minister Martin Ferguson said…

This being the case, it is worth having a closer look at the record of geothermal energy in Australia so far.

The company that has led the charge to create geothermal energy in Australia is Geodynamics, and its profile has been greatly helped by its most famous shareholder, Professor Tim Flannery, the handsomely remunerated part-time Chair of the Climate Commission.

Since 2002, the Geodynamics Annual Reports have spoken of… “
