Aussie Greens Force Thru Carbon Tax

They are hoping that by heavily compensating everyone for it (which seems to defeat the whole purpose of it?!) that it will have a minimal impact and they will be able to ride out the storm.

The Leader Of the Opposition, riding at record high opinion polls, has reiterated his pledge to repeal it.

It has been commented to me that The Greens will still control the Senate after the next election.
IF the next election is fought on the Carbon Tax
AND
the ALP/GREEN Government is soundly defeated on the issue
AND
they still refuse the mandate of the newly elected government
THEN
there is always a double dissolution election, just needs one other trigger.

Many Australians would be quite happy to go to the polls twice to get the Greens out of the Senate.
