Sworn Testimony – 24 Years Apart

1988. An enterprisng young computer modeller predicted the end of the world from Global Warming.

An impressionable young Illinois Senator – Barack Obama – took him seriously and the USA is now paying for it.

Hansen’s models have needed a great deal of tweeking since.

NASA tried unsuccessfully to get rid of him. (Help, I’m being supressed by deniers!)

The Earth did not warm signifigantly.

Human “Carbon” output rose astromomically.

The Third World are not remaining as noble savages to save the planet and in 2012 the Congress is listening to other voices and President Barack Obama is not.

A Focus on H.R. 6172 Thursday, September 20, 2012 – 10:00am
Energy and Power 2322
Rayburn Background Documents and Information:

The hearing will discuss EPA’s proposed New Source Performance Standards for power plants, which would require new coal-fired power plants to install costly carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology that is not yet commercially viable. The result of such stringent new standards is a de facto ban on the construction of any new coal-fired power plants. To prevent American coal plants from becoming extinct, Rep. David McKinley (R-WV) has introduced a bill, H.R. 6172, to prohibit EPA from finalizing any rule imposing emissions standards from power plants unless and until CCS is proven to be technologically and economically feasible. This hearing follows previous subcommittee hearings discussing the impact of EPA’s proposed NSPS standards on jobs, the economy, and consumers.

” …I am not using these statistics to prove the weather in the US is becoming less extreme and/or colder. My point is that extreme events are poor metrics to use for detecting climate change. Indeed, because of their rarity (by definition) using extreme events to bolster a claim about any type of climate change (warming or cooling) runs the risk of setting up the classic “non-falsifiable hypothesis.” For example, we were told by the IPCC that “milder winter temperatures will decrease heavy snowstorms” (TAR WG2, After the winters of 2009-10 and 2010-11, we are told the opposite by advocates of the IPCC position,
“Climate Change Makes Major Snowstorms More Likely”
(…. ”

Climatologist Dr. John Christy demolishes warmists’ claims in testimony to Congress: ‘Extreme events, like the recent U.S. drought, will continue to occur, with or without human causation’
