Aussie Election

Almost halfway through the campaign “Climate” is still a non-issue.

imagesNick Minchin, a climate sceptic still very influential in the AUS Liberal Party, was put on “The Drum” program in the hope that he would attack the “Direct Action Plan” and speculate that Tony Abbott will kill it off.

Nick enjoyed himself, but he didn’t take the bait. Leigh Sales dropped it from her interview later on The 7.30 Report.

The inner-city bourgeois-trendy-intellectual-snobs at “The Drum” still think that “Climate” is an issue and that the public want to keep paying huge amounts of money for it – WRONG.

You can tell from his body language that Nick Minchin thinks that Tony Abbott will win the election and that he will keep his election promises on “Climate” which is to kill off the Carbon Tax then the Climate bureaucracy, then –

“A call for submissions on the direct action plan to replace the carbon tax would be made on day 30 of an Abbott government and a white paper prepared the following month. The white paper would be released on day 105 with a two-month consultation period before legislation was introduced on the six-month anniversary of a Coalition government. Implementation would take place after 10 months.”

In other words he will heavily modify it after “submissions” are considered, emasculate it and render it harmless a year after he gets elected after “consultation”.

The real issue is still the dreaded mandatory RET which is killing our power bills, but is never raised because all political parties made a monumental stuff up by supporting it.
